Thiruvananthapuram: This morning (Firday) Air India Express bound from Karipur to Damam made an emergency landing at Thiruvanathapuram due to a technical issue. All passengers of Flight IX 385, which made an emergency landing, are safe, Air India officials informed.

The emergency landing was taken in the capital city following suspicion of an issue in the flight’s hydraulic system, which may be the cause suspecting that, the rear of the plane hit the runway during take-off. There were a total of 183 passengers in the flight.
The landing was proceeded after dumping fuel over the Arabian sea in Vizhinjam area, to facilitate the safe landing. The emergency response team, including the fire force, was on standby at the airport. All hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram city have also been alerted. However, the plane was able to land safely without any incident.
The plane has been shifted to Air India’s hangar unit at Thiruvananthapuram Airport and is being examined for mechanical failure.
