Jeddah: Based on forecasts of the anticipated wet weather, the Jeddah Education Directorate announced the suspension of in-person classes in all schools in Jeddah, Rabigh, and Khulais on Sunday. According to the Directorate, the decision was made in order to protect pupils and was subject to the data from the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).

In a statement, the NCM predicted that various areas of Makkah, including Jeddah and Rabigh, will see moderate to severe rain. The NCM forecast also mentions the potential for hail showers, active winds, and torrential rain, particularly in Makkah’s coastal districts. The King Abdulaziz University and University of Jeddah, both located in Jeddah, have taken similar actions.
The Civil Defense warned everyone to use caution and avoid standing rainfall.
