Riyadh: Riyadh Indian Football Association (RIFA), the largest Indian football association in Riyadh, organizes family gatherings for its members. RIFA President Bashir Chelambra informed that the 35 registered team members along with their families will participate in the event titled Family Meet – 2023 on February 3 at Al Waleed Recreation Center, Exit 18.
Sports programs including tug-of-war and various fun-based activities will begin at 1 pm. The staging of art programs like oppana, miming, dance, and kolkali will start from 6.30 pm onwards. The organizers also informed that separate competitions and art programs have been prepared for men and women.
Ali Al Qahatani, who is a member of the Saudi referee panel and is well-known to the Indian community in Riyadh, will be honored at the event. A health awareness class led by Ortho Specialist Dr. Hashim will be conducted for the members, officials said.
Saifu Karulai delivered the welcome speech in the preliminary meeting and Faisal Pazhur gave the vote of thanks. Hassan Punnayur, Nasser Mavoor, Naushad Chakala, Mustafa Kawwai, and Basheer Karantur participated in the further discussion.
