Riyadh: The Department of Religious Affairs in Saudi Arabia’s Albaha region has issued an important directive to the mosque administrations in Albaha, Balsharji, Mandaq, Qur’a and Bani Hassan to delay the bank call for Maghrib prayer by three minutes.
The Mu’addins of the mosques in the high places of the region are given this directive. It has been instructed to postpone the bank call for three minutes in order to ensure that the sunset is fully visible. This is based on the observation that sunset at high altitudes is later than the sunset time specified in the calendars.
The Fatwa commission in Albaha recommended delaying the Magrib bank call by three minutes last year as well, based on allegations that the bank was given even before sunset
