Kingdom Shines at WHC 2025 with 18 International Healthcare Awards

Geneva/Riyadh: Saudi Arabia secured 18 international awards in hospital development and scientific research at the 48th World Hospital Congress (WHC), held in Geneva from Nov. 10 – 13. The Kingdom received 13 awards for hospital development projects. King Khalid Hospital in Al-Kharj won the Gold Award from the Dr. Kwang Tae Kim Grand Award, the highest honor of the congress. Al-Kharj Maternity and Children’s Hospital earned the Silver Award from the American Hospital Association for initiatives supporting healthcare worker well-being.

Other winners included King Salman Hospital in Riyadh, which took the Silver Award for operational excellence at the Mastercard Awards, and the Jubail Health Network of the Eastern Health Cluster, which received the Bronze Award for social and environmental responsibility.

Saudi researchers won five additional awards across various scientific tracks: Dr. Muaddi Al-Harbi (Digital Health & AI), Dr. Hatem Abdullah and Musallam Sadaran (Clinical Models), and Dr. Hadi Al-Sulaym (Sustainability). The delegation’s achievements at WHC 2025 reflect Saudi Arabia’s expanding role in global healthcare innovation and its continued efforts to strengthen medical research and development.
